"The Ever Increasing Distance to Life"

The artworks that I would like to present revolves around the concepts of man’s desperate desire to be free, the constant battle between loneliness and love, the ways on how he tries to cope with life and its trials, and how he submits himself to the power of media, especially the ones produced by television.

I have been inspired by how people interact with their televisions. I observed that through these machines they were able to escape to another world, to a place where they don’t have to dwell on their misfortunes, on their adversities. It is a place which sparks creativity. It serves as a place where they can enter and get stories and gossip to distribute to their contacts. Nevertheless, it also serves an evil purpose - it serves as a doorway which opens and inspires the minds of some demented creatives.

Upon observation, I noticed that most of the people tend to busy themselves so much that they forget what it is to dream. What it is to feel the simple things around us, to breathe the fresh air, to watch the enthralling skies, the break of dawn and the entrance of dusk. We are constantly contained within our own cubicles of self-pity to earn a living, and constantly regret the beauty outside

Kulay-Diwa  is a venue for Philippines and Southeast Asian Contemporary Art. Inaugurated on February 7, 1987, Kulay-Diwa, is strategically located within a cluster of communities South of Manila.  It has five independent exhibition areas able to accommodate large-scale works and a garden ideal for programs, performances and sculpture installations.  The goal of the gallery is to discover and promote the works of young, talented but deserving Filipino Artists and to foster cultural interaction and exchanges with the local regions and other countries.

Kulay-Diwa est un lieu de rendez-vous pour Philippines et au sud-est le contemporain asiatique art. inauguré le 7 février 1987, Kulay-Diwa, est stratégiquement plac dans un faisceau des sud des communautés de Manille. Elle a cinq secteurs d'exposition indépendants capables adapter à des travaux à grande échelle et à un idéal de jardin pour des programmes, des exécutions et des installations de sculpture. Le but de la galerie est de découvrir et promouvoir les travaux des jeunes, doués mais méritants les artistes philippins et pour stimuler l'interaction et les échanges culturels avec les régions locales et d'autres pays.

Februar 1987, Kulay-Diwa eröffnet wird, strategisch in einem Block des Gemeinschaftssüdens von Manila. Es hat fünf unabhängige Ausstellungbereiche, die fähig sind, großräumige Arbeiten und ein Gartenideal für Programme, Leistungen und Skulpturinstallationen unterzubringen. Das Ziel der Galerie ist, die Arbeiten der Junge zu entdecken und zu fördern, begabt aber verdient philippinische Künstler und kulturelle Interaktion und Austäusche mit den lokalen Regionen und anderen Ländern zu fördern.

Tiene cinco áreas de exposición independientes capaces de acomodar trabajos en grande y un ideal del jardín para los programas, los funcionamientos y las instalaciones de la escultura. La meta de la galería es descubrir y promover los trabajos de jóvenes, talentosos pero mereciendo a artistas filipinos y fomentar la interacción e intercambios culturales con las regiones locales y otros países.
